MISO is more than a program. It is a creative pathway for transformation, empowerment, and connection. The name MISO carries a powerful dual meaning. In Papiamento, it translates to “I am alone,” reflecting the emotional reality many incarcerated women experience. In English, however, it becomes Made Inside Shared Outside, expressing the core philosophy of the program: what is created within prison walls can reach beyond them, connecting participants with the wider community. Originally launched in August 2024 as Made Inside in response to ArtWeek Aruba’s theme Justice, the program continues to evolve in 2026 under its new identity.
