MISO is jewellery and craft made by women at KIA, Aruba's women's correctional facility. Every piece carries a story of resilience, and every sale goes into the maker's personal reintegration fund.

MISO began in August 2024 as Made Inside, ArtisA's answer to the ArtWeek 2025 theme, Justice. Twice a week, on Tuesdays and Thursdays, artists, crafters and staff from Space21.art go into KIA for full-day workshops in embroidery, jewellery-making, textile design and mixed craft.
The group is small and chosen together with KIA staff. Each woman is mentored to develop her own design language: products are refined, collections are built and stories begin to emerge. The sessions are not only about making things. They are about self-worth, confidence and reclaiming an identity.

At ArtWeek 2025 the women's work was shown at the Aruba Art Fair in a featured showcase, Justice in Craft. Some contributed handmade pieces to ArtFashion, and some walked the runway themselves. For many it was the first time their work was seen in public.
MISO pieces are sold through Space21.art and online. Every item sold goes into the maker's personal reintegration fund, giving dignity and financial independence long before she returns to public life.
The bridge of continuity: creativity and dignity flow from the maker's hands to the wearer, not confined by walls.
Unfolding potential: even in quiet, restricted spaces, beauty and skill can flourish.
Preciousness and clarity: a mark of the value of the human spirit and of fine, precise craft.
Dignity and grace: a brand built on discipline, focus and quality, not on charity.
Your gift buys craft materials and pays the mentors who go into KIA every week. Companies can sponsor a full year of MISO workshops.
