About Victoria Candelaria

My name is Victoria Candelaria. I was born and raised in Aruba and have also lived in Curaçao. My grandfather was my inspiration to start drawing. We had a lot of his paintings hung around the house. I loved seeing his paintings and the way people would stop and be in awe of it. I wanted people to have that same reaction when they see my art. So from then on I really loved drawing with bright and eye-catching colors. I've always found it quite difficult to explain my emotions and the way I feel, so instead of talking about it, I started painting it in a way that others could also understand how I feel.
