About Diana Hopman

Born in the Netherlands, Diana Hopman Betjes has called Aruba home since 1991. She discovered painting in 1999 and soon embraced acrylics, creating on canvas, driftwood, wooden boxes, and layered paper. Her lifelong love of travel, geography, and maps fuels her current work, where she repurposes old maps, stamps, and magazines as textured backdrops. Inspired by her ocean‑loving children, her art reflects island life through pineapples, palm trees and sea creatures. Diana exhibits across Aruba (The Ola Gallery in Palm Beach and Space 21) and has twice been commissioned by Post Aruba to design commemorative stamps, including issues in 2023 and 2024.
