About Bernadette van der Klooster

I am a Dutch glass artist and researcher working between Aruba and the Netherlands. My practice combines glass, walking, field research and installation, inspired by Aruba’s Indigenous rock drawings and questions of memory, transmission and place. I am currently presenting my exhibition SITE – SIDE – SIGHT WALKS at the National Archaeological Museum Aruba, where I explore the cultural significance of Aruba’s rock drawings through contemporary artistic interpretation. At Aruba Art Fair I will share this project and its ideas with the public, while also presenting a selection of framed glass sculptures inspired by Indigenous rock drawings.
