Karen de Wit, living in Aruba, has been designing and creating ever
since she can remember. From work-related things like travel
programs, interior designs, creative art, and the latest jewelry. She
followed several courses and studies in metalsmithing and fell in love
with this traditional craftsmanship. Here in Aruba, she loves to stroll
along the beautiful, rough North Coast of the island. It’s there she
discovered the little treasures of tumbled sea glass. These ‘sea glass
sparks’ have been tumbling in the ocean for many years, obtaining
their beautiful tumbled structure. Karen captures these little ‘sea glass
sparks’ in sterling silver jewelry under the name CARIBBEAN
RAINBOW—Handmade Ocean Jewelry. This refers to the beautiful
colors of the rainbows she happens to see so often while strolling
along the Aruban coastline. Either caused during rainfall showers into
the ocean or, just as spectactular, from the water drops that smash up
and down the rocks at the North Coast. These colors she is trying to
visualize in the art she is creating today
