Carmen Mesa
Carmen was captivated and fell in love with the island and their people since she arrived on the island years ago.
Biography

Photography has always been Carmen’s hobby. She has delved deeper into it, capturing people, nature, animals, boats, among others. She is especially fascinated by Aruban’s old Cunucu houses. They inspired her to create the Open Doors series.
The series celebrates Aruba’s open doors, hospitality, generosity, culture, tradition, curiosity, beauty and freedom.
The frames are made in pine wood layering two photos printed, as the images overlap they achieve a 3D effect with depth and perspective, showcasing the aging architecture with the peaceful views through the doors and windows.
No matter how it looks outside there is always something nice and peaceful to enjoy inside!
